Chervil

Anthriscus cerefolium

A classic of French cuisine. Garden chervil is a sophisticated herb that combines the flavours of aniseed and parsley with a hint of liquorice.

Garden chervil has pretty lace-like leaves with a vivid colour. Thanks to the mild aroma, garden chervil is a great universal herb that doesn’t overpower other flavours. We recommend garden chervil with vegetables and in mushroom dishes.

More info & Curiosity:

Chervil is one of the fastest herb to grow and it can be eaten in less than 1 month after sowing, thus can be growth together with other fast herbs or even with salads.

It is has a mild, myrrh-scented flavor which make it an herb easy to use in any plate: chop finely and add on top of soups or salads. Chervil is also a key ingredient of the French “sauce verte” and the Argentinian “Chimmichurri”.  Both the leaves and the tiny stems can be eaten and are full of nutrients! You can also dry chervil and make a dry powder which will last longer.

Despite the mild taste, Chervil is rich in nutrient: it´s a good source of mineral, especially potassium, vitamins and polyphenolic flavonoid antioxidants.
