Exotic plants with Plantui light

Plantui is participating in an interesting research of food culture and economy that investigates the physical and mental impact of growing your own plants from your own country of origin in a market where they don’t exist in a supermarket shelf. Plantui’s devices where chosen to be the growth substrate of this indoor growing experiment because of Plantui’s unique technology that allows changing the light algorithms and watering rythm to meet the needs of even the most exotic and challenging plants.

The research let the international audience choose a variety of seeds they’d like to grow in a Plantui indoor garden, that are from the plants that are not available to buy in their home market. Our crop scientist Martina Angeleri then tuned the light technology and watering watering system to support the photosynthesis and meet the growth needs for these exotic plants, and then the growth began! The international research group only had to give the plants some water, Plantui nutrient and love and monitor how their favorite herbs, salads and vegetables performed far away from home, in an optimized indoor growing environment.

On Friday 20th May these growth results will be presented and a discussion around the interesting topic of culture and food will be organized by Granger T Simmons, as a part of his EU-funded project of Food culture and economy. If you are in Finland, you can join and see the results yourself! The results of the project will be presented also in Plantui’s web page.

Plantui offers the possibility to have a little garden at home and grow your favorite plants, choosing between the 50+ seeds available in our selection, or using your own. In the project for instance, several exotic seeds were grown in Plantui. Beyond that, we believe that our light- and irrigation- technology could be adapted to larger scale vertical farm system which will strengthen Finnish local agriculture production.
